What is acid reflux?

Acid reflux medicine is available in the following forms:You should follow all instructions to take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. The usual dose is one capsule, taken with food or milk once or twice a day. Depending on the type of reflux you have, you may be given one capsule of the medication with or without food. If you have frequent heartburn, a similar dose of acid reflux medicine may be prescribed. However, your doctor may increase your dose, or decrease it gradually if you have frequent heartburn or acid reflux disease.
You can take this medicine for up to 14 days after a meal. If you are taking acid reflux medicine for more than 14 days, you should tell your doctor before you take this medicine.

Adults 18 years, of age and over: Take 1 capsule daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days.
Swallow the capsule whole with water, with or without food. Do not crush, chew or open the capsule. Not intended for immediate relief. It may take a few days to achieve maximum results.
Do not take for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor.
USAGE ADVICE The bottle contains a sealed container with silica gel desiccant. Keep the bottle tightly closed to protect from moisture.

Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing works by inhibiting the sucrose malabsorption of sucrose. This prevents the absorption of sucrose not available in the intestine and therefore reduces the severity of the diarrhoea.
It is a proton pump inhibitor. You take esomeprazole magnesium trihydrate 22.3mg once daily.
Do not use Nexium if you have a stomach ulcer, heart failure, impaired kidney function, serious liver or liver problems, severe heart or kidney problems, low blood pressure, or a history of fainting, priapism (sudden loss of vision), or any other serious health problem. Stop using Nexium and call your doctor at once if you have an allergic reaction to esomeprazole, any other similar prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicine, or any other toxin.
Sucrose and salt.
Use with caution in children and adolescents under 10 years of age. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and adolescents for this purpose.
Gastric acid secretion may be decreased in patients who are over the age of 10. If you have ever had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole, or any other medicine, see your doctor. Check with your doctor as soon as possible. You can avoid early withdrawal symptoms.
Nexium can cause serious stomach bleeding. If you experience any of the following symptoms, you should see a doctor immediately: severe pain in your stomach or intestines, black, peeling, crusted, red, warmth, or purple stools. If any of the above symptoms are experienced, or if they continue, talk to your doctor.
If you are prone to dental disease, talk to your doctor about ways to keep your dental work and medical equipment clean. To keep your dental work and medical equipment clean, your doctor will keep a regular check-up to ensure the well-being of your children and adolescents. Keep all dental work and dental equipment in a cool, dry place.
